We are very lucky in WA, being able to move around freely.
This week I spent some time, north of Perth, in a beautiful little town called Kalbarri.
I wanted to show some of the unique features of this sunny corner of my world.
So I splashed lots of acrylic paint around in sunshine colours, making sure I had plenty of contrast with patterns, colours and shapes.
Then I drew little scenes that I’d noticed, from around the town.
Lastly, I silhouetted these scenes with white acrylic paint.
It definitely went through it’s ugly stage where I despaired of sorting out the positive and negative spaces.
But I’ve learned to leave things and take a big long breather before picking up the brushes again.
