Moon Boat
I am truly a novice, but have been having fun for a couple years with a group of friends who get together about once a week to paint. We paint rocks, scrap wood, canvas - it's been a great time together, sometimes talking like mad and other times we're so quiet my husband thinks everyone has left!
We were painting on election night in 2016, (sorry to be a bit political), this canvas started out as a very simple, stark, foggy scene with an unfinished, unmoored boat. I didn't finish it for some time.
Just this Spring, a friend suffered a stroke and I painted a lot of evenings for a couple weeks after visiting her, and the progression of 'my boat' is interesting to me. The sky got very dark, the clouds were stormy, no horizon was visible, and then as the days went by and she started responding, brighter clouds happened, then the weedy shallows, and finally the boat was tied to something and I painted a moon.
I love painting! But as I said I'm really unschooled and would love any and all feedback. This is an amazing site, thank you so much!
