Living Reef

Just saw the Fishscape painting in this forum, via your newsletter and thought I'd post this one of mine.

I was lucky enough to experience a snorkel adventure in the Living Reef tank on Daydream Island. We were treated to a tour by one of the resident marine biologists. This trip was linked to my work with a regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) group Reef Catchments. I was so inspired by the light rippling down through the water and playing across the coral. The yellow striped banner fish were bumping into my mask as they were being fed. And we were thrilled when a ray swam across our laps at feeding time. What a treat!

I came home and did the entire background in one day, then filled in the coral and fish later. It just flowed off the brush after being so inspired. I had watched several of your clips on YouTube - light on the bottom and coral bommies fading into the distance.

Anyway, I was pretty pleased with the result. Hope you like it too!
