A Winter Scene

Hello everyone, just started painting about 6 months ago. I have always been intrigued by winter scenes (Claude Monet-The Magpie) so I decided to try to paint one myself.

I used a photograph as a go-by for most of the scene and then tried to get the little stream to look like it was half frozen but still running. And, I tried to use Mark's technique of highlighting to get the effect of the snow on the trees and branches and the shadows. This is acrylics on a 12 x 12 stretched canvas.
