A Perfect Day

"A Perfect Day" is a painting that I've always wanted to paint. A painting of Currumbin Beach and its Rock which is a special place where I spend a lot of time. I was lucky to be on the beach on a very nice calm day and capture a beautiful clear shot of the rock taken from behind the dunes and grasses.

The day was so perfect, the sea in the photo looked like a still band of deep blue, so I added some white caps and small waves for interest and movement which is usually the norm around the rock. I also changed the foreground dunes and grasses by breaking up the grass and showing more sand and ground foliage.

I painted this for my daughter who is living in Canada amongst the snow and is missing her favourite Currumbin and our sizzling summer days.
