A New Day

This painting was done for the 24th Mental Illness Fellowship of Queensland's Art Expo which will be held in May. The theme is "Hope in the Present" and I searched the web for some inspiration. I found a photo of a sunset with the silhouette of a horse and knew that that I wanted to paint something similar.

Getting the blend of the sky right was a challenge, and yes Mark's voice kept whispering in my ear... don't over blend!!!

Mind you, I now have to paint another one because hubby fell in love with it and is still sulking that I have entered into the expo with the hope of selling it!!!
